Kandy Chiu
Kandy grew up and attended high school in Auckland, New Zealand. She then went on to study dentistry at Griffith University on the gold coast, graduating with her dental degree in 2012.
Following graduation, she has enjoyed working with people from all walks of life in both public and private sectors. Her travels across central and north Queensland, including with the Royal Flying Doctor Service, have taken her to rural townships including Mount Isa, Mornington Island, Townsville and Palm Island.
Nestling down, she feels well at home in joining the warm family at Camira Dental.
Kandy’s philosophy is to treat every patient as if they were a loved one.
She is meticulous, informative and committed to providing quality and long lasting care that is easily maintainable care that is tailored to each patient’s goals.
She strives to ensure a gentle, comfortable and positive dental experience for every patient and prides herself in practicing with kindness, empathy and integrity.
Kandy particularly enjoys working with children. She has a strong preventative and minimalist approach and is passionate about sharing her knowledge and promoting oral health as an integral part of general well-being.
As a member of the Australian Dental Association and regular attendee of professional development courses, Kandy enjoys keeping up to date with the latest techniques and enhancing her knowledge and skills. She has made a small contribution to undergraduate research, with a journal publication on the "Opinion of residents from the Gold Coast, Queensland, on community water fluoridation."
In addition, she has loved the privilege of supervising and mentoring dental students in their clinical years.
Outside of work, Kandy loves baking, loose-leaf teas, dining out, reading, travelling, and most importantly, the company of her family, friends and beloved cat.
